Hank Jr Gets Anthologised


The storied career of Hank Williams Jr is being celebrated in a new, four-disc box set from Curb Records, currently available in the US as a Walmart exclusive. Hank Williams, Jr: A Country Boy Can Survive is named after his 1982 hit, which is one of the 29 top 40 country hits and nine No. 1s (from a career total of ten) featured in the collection.

Hank Jr box setWilliams' track record with the Curb label currently stands at 37 chart albums, beginning with 1977's One Night Stands. In 1982, he created a record by having nine albums on the country chart simultaneously, and his career album sales are more than 70 million worldwide. His current album It's About Time, released via Big Machine, entered the country chart at No. 2, his highest peak there since 1990.

A Country Boy Can Survive includes such highlights as Williams' first country No. 1, 1970's 'All For The Love Of Sunshine,' recorded with the Mike Curb Congregation and featured in the Clint Eastwood movie Kelly's Heroes. Also selected are other signature songs such as 'Honky Tonkin,'' 'All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight' and his 1989 “duet” with his father Hank Sr, 'There's A Tear In My Beer.' In addition to three CDs of hits, the set features a fourth disc of 17 live tracks.
